horrible experience. My husband and I wanted to give the best life to a cat we fell in love with through the window. We literally give our pets the world, and I work in the vet field. It took me 10 days after submitting an application to get a response, told I was a perfect fit, then ghosted for five more days. I sent 7 emails, called several times, left several messages. You'd think they would do their best to get pets into loving homes as soon as possible. We ended up adopting a little orange kitten from Oklahoma Humane Society in 45 minutes after walking in. THAT is how you get pets adopted. I had my heart attached and wanted to give that cat the world but they were so horrible to even try to work with! I hope one day he gets a loving family. We wanted to be it but apparently they didn't want him to be adopted.

We love pets and people the only thing we wish is they were open on Saturday at least half a day.

My son has been helping out here and I get to kind of hang out there because he is under 13. I can tell they really care about the animals and take good care of them. Great place to adopt from. Everyone is very nice.

Very disappointed in this organization. I tried to adopt Cassie a shepherd and was told another family was coming and they would let me know if it didn't work out, her profile was taken down. Awesome Cassie is being adopted. A week later profile went back up and I received no contact from them that the prior family didn't work. I reached back out to them and was told they spoke with the foster and she was wanting to adopt Cassie now and that the foster also said because I have 2 female dogs that Cassie would be best suited in a home with male animals as she shows dominance. Keep in mind she is 10 to 12 weeks and still learning how a pack works. Her profile since is still up which tells me she is still available. Makes me very sad and disappointed they are being this way with a puppy in need of a home. I can understand older animals in the shelter since they maybe a little more stuck in their ways, but this is a puppy that me and my husband are willing to work with and train to give her the best loving life. I hope if you get the chance to adopt from them your experience is better than mine.

They only rescue from animal shelters on death row. They don’t take from the public but operate out of the City of Yukon owned building that also houses the yukon animal shelter (which will take in animals within city limit).
Yes it is
I went threw the same thing around the same time. I finally bought a dog from a breeder too. This is so frustrating and sad!!!
I think they will
Yes. Community service is available here. Main job is walking dogs. Have fun, theres alot of happy dogs ready for the attention.
Yes.
Yes, that is not good. But with training, this behavior can be corrected. Petco offers training classes for a reasonable price. There are a lot of trainers available that can help. I suggest you Google "Dog Training" and do some research. I hope this helps.
Of course! If you would like to give us a call 405-367-7156 we can talk about all the different ways you can get involved. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello! Check out our website for step to adopt! www.petsandpeople.com/adopt/ Once we have received your questionnaire our team will set up an appointment for you to meet Opie. Thank you!
yes they do.
I was told a few years ago that they generally only accept strays from shelters
It is an adoption place. If they will take the dogs, they will keep them until someone adopts them. They are picky though. Good luck.
Yes they would do that.
Yes, they do.
Yes, just call them & set a time to view the dogs you want.
Normally animal control will collect "escapees" and take to shelter/pets & people. These folks are great in trying to get an animal home or hold them as long as they can.
Yep
Please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Or email them.
I've been feeding and petting a Tux born in a field along with his sister who are both friendly. Are you interested? They've been living in extreme weather conditions along with 5 other cats. They sure could use a good home.
Go get her
Yes I saw one that was needed to be adopted. It was her grandmother's I think. Towards the top I love weiners dogs
