Here’s a friendly suggestion for parents of young children who have seizures. If you wake up to find your child unresponsive and feel the urge to take them to the ER; first make sure you take the time to change their diaper and clean them up a bit. Seconds matter, so a fresh clean diaper is essential. Also, for those children that have a genetic condition which causes areas of their skin to be darker than other areas, please try to remedy this with foundation. Finally, if you as a parent are familiar with hospitals and the procedures at hospitals due to your child’s many appointments and ER visits; upon the doctor or nurse giving you information about your child’s emergency, please put on your most convincing ‘horrified’ face. Shed a tear if needed, and ask for a chair in case you faint. If you don’t do these things, the staff will think you don’t care about your child. If you don’t take these precautions, you may find yourself in the middle of resolving a Child Protective Service case for potential neglect. Remember; fresh diaper, no skin discoloration-causing genetic condition, and act as if you’re auditioning for the next big disaster movie. Seriously though, CPS is aware of this hospital's multiple bogus calls regarding what they think is neglect. Not to mention the plethora of other issues this hospital has. Reoccurring staph infections, patients being dropped while being transported, etc. So now we’ve made it a rule to drive the extra five minutes south to Texas Children’s Hospital, as they’ve never had an issue with us in the months and months of inpatient visits and appointments. That’s what CPS suggested, too.

Every one was very nice that I came in contact with. Communication with what was going on with me personally was not good. I had several test and not one of them was ever discussed with me. My daughter did call in and was able to get answers. Was not allowed o eat or drink, but they brought me food and water. Was told it was because of test next day. They did end up letting me eat. I think it was because no one actually called the cardiologist that night and apparently it takes more than 24 hours for him to get their to order the test. I was comfortable in the room, but could have gone home and come back for the test probably. Rather be safe than sorry on that though. Went to the emergency room thinking I may be having a heart attack. It was over 30 minute wait which w/o raked out for me this time. They had a lot of people waiting. Just thinking heart attack possibility would move you closer to the front of the line.

Every one was amazing! I’ve had several babies and this hospital has been the best by far. They make sure you are very informed before you leave and give you plenty of resources. The midwife, nurses, even the cleaning lady were awesome! The only problem was the food. I’m not eating dairy and the kitchen couldn’t tell me what may or may not have dairy. That made it a little difficult for meals, but everything else went wonderfully!

I had back surgery at HCA Houston- Conroe. The experience could not have been any better, for the fact that it was back surgery! Everyone I had reason to encounter was polite, considerate and caring. The facility was spotlessly clean and staff was conscientious! I woke up in recovery with a pleasant nurse attending me. Was later moved to my room and introduced to the nurses who would care for me overnight. Day shift Nurse Jessica, who is only name I remember in my medicated state, and others on staff were prompt and caring, with a sense of humor.! They made my stay quite comfortable. Supervisory staff, and Staff Physician were equally professional! My Thanks to You All for the Excellent Care you provided!
