I have yet to go to this shelter but I hear good things about and that makes me want to visit, hopefully find a small, sweet puppy or older. I need them as much as they need me. I also am very much interested in volunteering. My only draw back is I would need a ride. I am retired and sold my car 2 yrs. hopefully, we can work this out. My Best, Carol j. Harris

We adopted our dog from Heart of Niagara in 2014. She was injured when they took her in, saving her from euthanasia at a shelter down south. Her injuries led to her leg needing to be removed. The shelter fundraised and provided all the medical care she needed and saved her life. When we met her, she was a scared but sweet little thing with a broken leg and no hope for a future. She came home with us the day her stitches came out from her surgery to remove the broken leg. She has been the missing piece to our family ever since. She is sweet, smart and quirky. And without Heart of Niagara she would not be a part of our lives. She has rolled with what life throws at her from a big move to a new family member and the loss of one of her favorite people. We will never be able to thank Heart of Niagara enough for bringing her into our lives and still asking for updates after all these years.
