This place is a secret treasure, I never even knew that this place was even right here in Rochester, until my photographer brought me there to do my maternity photoshoot. My photos turned out AMAZING due to the photographer and the beautiful location. Definitely will keep this place in mind going forward!

Yes it is though there may be others there which means it will take time to get decent pictures without strangers in the background.
Last I knew the interior was still closed for renovations. The outside is open to look around and see the sunken gardens, but that is all.
Inside tours are closed. I know people doing the interior renovations and they are still well underway. Might be some time before those are finished.
no admission fee! the castle is currently under renovation, so no guests admitted there just now, but the Alling DeForest sunken garden and estate grounds are open and free to view.
That's a great question. I've never been inside. But you can go to the Garden out back anytime, the sunken garden.

The castle is only open Tuesday through Thursday 9am to 4pm however the scenery of the grounds remain open daily.
Yes, you can take engagement photos there. It's beautiful for that and it's free! The castle itself is open certain days and times but the secret garden and the yard are still available and free.
