Ever since I've been going to Detroit Lake we stop here first. The food is always so good, the shakes are better then anywhere else and the customer service is always fantastic. It's a new tradition to stop here every time from now on.

Always wonderful! Staff is super sweet here, food is fresh and made with care. Cutest spot for stopping for food making your way through town. Often my husband and I stop here on our way from Bend to Portland.

Love it! Such a cute place. Perfect elk burgers and love their pineapple shakes! A little pricey would be my only heads up to people before they stop. If you can afford it though or have a smaller family to feed it is super good. Just a shock when you get your total is all.

The Gingerbread House is a quaint little cafe of home cooking sauteed in the town's charm. I had the Jalapeno Cheese Burger. Small seating area, fresh handmade ginger house cookies, and reasonably priced handmade jewelry. Friendly service, masks required to enter, public bathroom, plastic & cash accepted. Place your order at the front desk and have a seat to fresh a home cook meal.

I've enjoyed breakfast and lunch there. The staff was always corteous and friendly. The last time I was there, I had the Elk burger medium rare and it was delicious. Good fries too. The buns are better than most burger joints. They have outside seating which is nice when you want to feel the breeze.
The owners are getting older and don't have anyone to do it to, at least that's my understanding. It's a great place for those who love here and those traveling east/west
You would have to go in and fill out an application
order at an outside order and pick up window ( separate windows ) mask is required when making orders or picking up your food. ( although a few stubborn elderly believe themselves to be above these requirements ) not complaining but they are putting themselves at risk good vibes there way forsure!
