Stayed at Shawagunk as an access point to Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve. Campsites were adequate for our needs. The main building has toilets and pay-showers as well as a practice climbing wall for those preparing to climb in the preserve. The inner facilities had composting toilets, so they were environmentally friendly, but the odor was noticeable. Bear-resistant dumpsters available throughout. Good price and great central location.

All the roads approaching and in the campground are paved in the last 5 years. The sites either have a car-sized parking space next to them or have a parking space at the main lot and are listed as "walk-in". Completely accessible by bike.
According to the policy when I booked, yes, but they must remained leashed and attended at all times. They are not allowed in any permanent buildings.
At the entrance and by the camping area, there are toilets, a separate sink for washing dishes/clothes and a bear-proof dumpster. At the entrance facility there are pay-showers and picnic tables for communal dining. (Each campsite also has its own picnic table for private dining as well.) There is a climbing wall at the front building for those wanting extra practice.
Hi there! We accept walk-ins during office hours, so long as there’s availability. Office is open S-Th from 7-9pm and F-Sat from 6-10pm.
Open but filled up for the coming weekend.
Yes there are larger level parking spots available for a van of such size. When making a reservation please leave a note as well, thank you.
