The Carousel itself is larger than I thought and moves faster than you expect! It's very safe with seat belts and parental hand holding. The Gift Shop has a lot of fun items from games to stuffed animals - go have a good time then play or walk around the connected park!

Rides are $1.50 for tokens. Maybe less for punch cards? The carousel is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous restoration. Nice place to stop in with kids during a fun day at the waterfront.

We loved being able to visit the Salem Carousel downtown! 🎠 It's super convenient for families and accessible for those with disabilities. It's right beside the waterfront park so make a day out of it! The gift shop is attached to the carousel and you can buy your tokens to ride here. The price is perfect! The kiddos love dropping their tokens in the box before they ride. The carousel is super cute, clean, and fun! All the animals are so creative and bright. My little one had a hard time choosing her favorite for each ride. If you have a toddler or younger kiddo you can ride beside for free. Masks required here and there is hand sanitizer available. The staff does a great job of keeping things here clean and they have a good routine to sanitize between each ride. Great place to visit if you're traveling with kids or anyone who's young at heart. Highly recommend. I love to support this place! ❤ ☆Review Update☆ We still love this place and try and go once a week to support them! They have lots of fun activities for kiddos around holidays (Chrsitmas, Valentines Day). You can even rent their party room, which is super fun!

Fun stop on our road trip to stretch the legs. I was shocked at how clean the park and grounds were. Cleanest public bathrooms I have ever seen! We loved seeing the craftsmen working on new horses. It was simple fun.

I was told by the carvers that hey do rotate them out occasionally in order to do maintenance. However it's not on a consistent schedule.
