I honestly had a great experience here! Went to change my last name after getting married, and the gentleman helping me was so kind and funny. It went quick, and he made it such an easy process.

That was the fastest I’ve ever been through that establishment. Reason for one star, is the lady behind counter 2, was rude as hell!! I have a hard time hearing through 3 protective glasses, so I have to ask her to repeat herself. She rolls her eyes at me and acts disgusted and disrespectful towards me like she didn’t want to repeat herself. Don’t work for the government, for assistance with social security/disabilities if your going to be rude

Very rude! Unprofessional! Asking questions and the lady just hung up on my husband…

Just. Don’t. This building security is an absolute joke. My wife and I came in to get her new social security card and they would only see her. They also mask everything and are incredibly rude. 🤡 establishment

You would apply at the Social Security office for a replacement social security card. To get a copy of a birth certificate you need to contact the health department in the county in which you were born. Sometimes, if you don't live in the county, or even state, in which you were born, you are able to request a copy of your birth certificate via an online form and/or being able to pay and order it directly online. Not all states offer this but some do.
Truth
I don't know if they have one, i looked them up on Google and i clicked call that office, it got me to the 800 number automatically
Visit any Social Security office and simply apply for a Social Security number. You can even go online, download Form SS-5-FS, fill it out, and submit it in person. Good luck!
I recommend calling ahead. Most offices are open. However depending on location some are only open by appointment. I know the Rolla office dies accept walk ins
The lobby is still closed to public walk-ins. They can do most things via telephone and mail that they would be able to do in person. If they need to see you personally, they will schedule you for an in-facility appointment.
If you have a My SSA account, you can do it online. Otherwise, go into a local office and they can do it for you.
Yes ask for a print out
Go to office and talk to them they They will do all there is too do
Go to socialsecurity.org to apply online
This is not a monitored site by the SSA. Check their website or call the local office. 😊
By itself, the birth certificate is usually only considered proof of citizenship, but not proof of identity since it is issued without a photograph at birth, containing no identifying features. Proof of identity, such as a driver's license or the testimony of a third party (such as a parent, or more preferably, both parents), is needed to establish identity or entitlement to a service. A child born abroad to two U.S. citizen parents, or one citizen parent and one non-citizen, also typically has citizenship from birth. Such births are registered with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. If the embassy or consulate determines the child acquired citizenship at birth, it issues a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, also known as Form FS-240. A birth certificate will also be issued locally in the country where the child was born. The consular report is proof of U.S. citizenship and may be used to obtain a passport for the child and register the child for school, among other purposes.
Depends if you go in from noon to one it's usually fast.
Don't think so
You come down and they will set you an appt and will go over what you will need to bring. The appt can either be by phone or in office.
No, if the government shuts down everything will be held til fix is made,
