Their online banking (including their app) is down for 3+ days for a system upgrade!?! Crazy. Unheard of for the 21st century. And on top of that all their branches are closed during the same period.

The ATM's tend to fill up over the weekend when the branches are closed, so that could be what the issue was if you tried to deposit today - but this definitely shouldn't be an every day issue! Yes, but personal checks on a new account may be subject to hold until there is a history built up on the account. Even on a previous membership this would apply. You can also use your debit card from UMB at the account opening as well, which would have no holds applied.
