This is Monday morning, I went to Northwestern Delnor Hospital for a CT scan. From the moment I went through the door, I felt like a VIP. Everyone I met had smiles, they were upbeat, treated me very nice, showed me where to go to check in. my wait time was really less than five minutes! And the person that took me into the CAT scan was super friendly, and I was in and out , Bada bing! It was just a very pleasant experience, from beginning to end.

Delnor hospital will lie to cover up for incompetent and unethical doctors. I filled a complaint against a doctor that was both unprofessional and liar. He lied on my medical records which is illegal! His name is Dr. Victor Kapoor. I called and reported the problem with the hospital. Dr. Kapoor and I both stated that their was an RN present in the room for the entire exchange. They called me to say that it was my word against his and they would not use RN statements. The nurse confirmed with me at the time that Dr. Kapoor never warned me of any health risk. They have no soul here. Go anywhere else.

I took my mother into the ED for severe abdominal pain and was greeted by the front desk check. The front desk service was fast and professional. My mother was called in by a dark hair nurse who was extremely rude and dismissive when I tried to explain to her what was going on as my mother did not speak English, and there was a language barrier. There was no interpreter service provided. The triage nurse also failed to introduce herself. One would think these Delnor Magnet Hospital nurses were educated on the proper introduction of names to patients, but I was wrong. No introduction by the triage nursing staff was provided. After a 2 hour wait in the waiting room, my mother was brought back to a room in the ED, where she waited another 2 hours for Toradol for pain. This was unacceptable; there were many delays in patient care in the ED. Mainly with the nursing staff. Not medicating a patient promptly prolongs the pain, making the experience more unpleasant than it needed to be. This was avoidable. It took about 5 hours from the time we set foot in the ER to admission! That's insanely long! The waiting room was not that busy, and I've seen more jam-packed waiting rooms at other ED locations. So much for the magnet status, which means nothing here. My mother was admitted to Med/Surg floor; most of the nurses on the Med/Surg floor were great except on discharge day. DAY 1 POST OP/DISCHARGE DAY: My mother was a POST OP LAP CHOLE patient, and no one got her up out of bed walking or for meals. It was 11:00 in the morning, and I being her daughter, had to be the one to get her up out of bed, take her to the bathroom, all the nursing duties but with no pay. I put on the call light at 10 am so that the bed alarm could be turned off so that I could help my mother to the bathroom; not a single nursing staff came in for one hour to turn off the call light as my mother held her urine for over 1 hour on day one post-op. This is just unacceptable. The surgeon that performed my mother's surgery was Dr. Woodard. He is very personable and a good surgeon. He took his time to explain the procedure, which was very much appreciated—being an ER nurse with some medical background. Surgery is not my expertise, and I like things explained to me. Dr. Woodard was the only good thing from this visit to Delnor. Post Op follow-up appointment seemed a little rushed, but I recommend Dr. Woodard general surgery. He did an excellent job removing my mother's gallbladder. Thank you! For taking care of my mother. I would have given this a 4 star only because of Dr. Woordard, but the 1 star is for the whole patient/family experience.

Depends on what unit you are going to generally 8am to 800pm. The main doors close and the only way in is through the emergency department. And if you are not an employee or there for emergency you will told too come back during visiting hours.
