Could not believe the energy the staff brought. My son was wanting to quit scouts (age 14) but we had already paid for camp. Now he can't wait to be a CIT next year!!! People gripe about food but seriously I don't know what they expect when young adults are given limited funds to feed 400ppl per week. It was worth it and no one starved.

This was a great camp for our Boy Scouts. The staff is very enthusiastic and entertaining, so they made it fun for all. Camp Winton has an excellent selection of merit badges. The boys in our troop were typically earning 2-5 merit badges, depending on their level of experience and motivation. The only downside is a hilly one mile hike into camp from the vehicles, so use a backpack and know you will need to carry all your gear. Younger scouts should not bring "everything" they tell you to bring or they will be carrying too much weight for their size. This year, the water was warm (due to the hot weather), so swimming was good. The lake water level was very low, but it wasn't a major impact, just a longer walk. The food was good, well above average for a summer camp. Every evening there was a program event that was fun, so they keep you busy from teh time you wake up until bedtime. My boys loved it and I recommend this camp to anyone that's considering going.

Gone to plenty of scout camps and this is by far the best one I’ve ever set foot on!!! Honestly, no explanation needed, go experience it yourself.

This camp will change you for the better. The staff are some of the best role models you can find, and they put everything they have into making your week there the best it can be.
