This is one of my favorite places to go eat and hang out on 2nd St. in Philadelphia! They have an extensive very cool drink list. The staff is amazing. Wednesday through Friday you can find Danny behind the bar during the day and he is always very helpful and hilarious! Always has a joke. Andrew, John and Carl you will also find behind the bar and just so friendly. It's entertaining just to go and watch them work when it's busy. They just rock 'n' roll. We can't forget Theo, he's the chef! You don't get to see him much because he's in the kitchen putting out the delicious food. If you get a chance, let him know he's appreciated! The decor is is smashing and worth a visit just to take a gander! They have the best grilled cheese on the planet! They even make their own ketchup! I also love the fact that if you are in the business, they give you a 10% discount. If you stop by, tell them Donna sent you! Cheers & Bon appétit!

I was visiting old town for work for 3 weeks and came to Sassafras 8 times! It was a convenient choice as I was staying around the corner in an Airbnb, but even still, I returned time after time for expertly crafted cocktails, the friendly service, and the amazing food (highlights: the fries, the sassafras Burger). Tonight I’m here again and there is a lovely Jazz Trio playing. You must stop by if you’re in town!

Super knowledgeable and delicious drinks and food! Our "spirit guide" helped me pick out a few drinks that matched my taste perfectly! She's the best. And the cheese curds.....so yummy!!
