Such a cool place! If you in the area I would say it's a must stop! Sunflowers on sunflowers!! You can pick them also.(for a small fee) they also sell sweet corn.

Beautiful place to take a walk! Fun activities for the kids. They take donations and you can cut your own sunflowers for a small fee. Fun place to spend an hour. Lots of photo opportunities. Take a walk through the field on the paths to the observation decks.

The view was beautiful. You could go and cut some 🌻 s for yourself for one dollars or six for 5 dollars. So many flowers.

I believe so

Is there a cost for this? Is there a self guided tour through the field?

There is no cost to walk through the field. You can give a donation and they use that to buy things to put out for kids and photo opportunities. You can go and explore on your own. If you want to cut sunflowers and bring them home, it is $1 a flower or $5 for 6 of them.

Are the sunflowers blooming now? When would be the best time to see them? (Aug,2019)

Yes they are. They should be good for at least a week.

Early August. But it depends on weather. We went at noon on a weekday so there was less ppl. Did get hot and there isnt any shade.

It doesn't cost anything. :) if you want to take sunflowers home, you leave a donation. Otherwise it's absolutely free. It's an amazing experience if you've never seen a sunflower field. They even provide a sunflower fact sheet.
