Nice place. Owner is nice. Quick walk down to river. Bathrooms are clean. Only issue was fire pit was not very visible first time I drove up to campsite. Also not sure firewood was wet but got dry after burning for a while.

Great campground to stay at, we love coming here! Clean bathrooms, large open space to play games plus a small park for kids!! Owners are very friendly and great to talk too!! We will definitely be back again

Most amazing campground ever. Its on the Manistique river, amazingly views. We rented Kayaks and tubes and went down the river, it is so beautiful of a trip (its a must do). It is a family owned/managed campground and they are the nicest people ever. I have been taco bout it with my Uncle Slippery being a yearly trip!!! They have a nice little camp store there also, I love sausage and the one night I was going to make sausage I couldn't find our cooking gear but they had what I needed at the camp store. Store also has ice cream :)

Let me start by saying these folks deserve far more than 5 stars. Last August my family and I took our first trip as a family to the upper peninsula and we booked this campground. At first glance it was any other family run campground. I'll spare the long winded details but wood was cheap and delivered to camp, showers and bathrooms were immaculate, kayaking was amazing and the owner left us feeling very confident on water we had never paddled. The service at the camp store was prompt and prices reasonable. Where they went above and beyond... We had some truck troubles in an area with ZERO service. We were able to get just enough of a signal to get a tow truck, and they can't help with a ride for myself and the kids. We were able to get just enough of a signal to call the last number we had dialed in the u.p., the campground. I was hoping for a number to a taxi or other resource. This man, dropped his dinner and drove 45 minutes one way to come drive me and my girls home to camp. Words could not express our gratitude. We tell everyone about our experience at Big Cedar Campground, though we hope their vacation doesn't include car troubles. If you're looking for a place to unwind and call home for a few nights (or weeks) this place is a phenomenal choice.
