Had a rock put a star break in my windshield about the size of a quarter. They came out today to fix it and I'm not satisfied with the quality of the repair at all. I could've probably bought a $10.00 kit and had better results in the end. I've had similar chips in the past and had them repaired with another guy that owned his own company. He always did a perfect job, wish he was still alive today. The picture is after the "Repair".

Living on gravel roads, I have had Glass Doctor replace 2 different windshields and repaired a chip. Have done great work every time and are fast, friendly and professional in their work. Would suggest them highly!

Scratch removal in auto glass is not a commercially viable solution to the retail market. Basically, it is labor-intensive and not always successful. If the customer is not satisfied with the result, they are understandably not willing to pay for the time and materials invested by the glass company. Scratch removal and scratch buffing systems exist; however, they are typically only practical in warehouses, industrial, and larger commercial glass projects. Please call our Glass Doctor office if you would like a more detailed explanation.
Currently, most Glass Doctor locations use urethane with a one-hour safe drive-away time from when the new windshield gets set. No need for blue tape or any holds on washing your car. You are fully protected at the 60-minute mark. Please be sure to check with your local Glass Doctor to ensure the type of urethane being used.
For auto glass, we have the best guarantee in the nation upon installing a new windshield. If you choose our Windshield Protection Plan, you’ll have coverage for a full 12 months. Should you get a rock chip in your new windshield, Glass Doctor will repair it at no cost to you. Our Windshield Protection Plan covers all rock chips received in the first 12 months — no limit. Should you receive damage that is not repairable such as a long crack or significant damage in the driver’s view area, we will replace the windshield at no cost to you for the glass material. Depending upon the type of coverage you purchase at the time of original install, you may be responsible for the cost of labor, adhesive, and moldings.
Unfortunately, tempered safety glass, by design, cannot be cut. It is designed to break into small pieces when cut or broken to reduce the risk of significant injuries to the person breaking it. Using safety glass, of which “tempered” is one type, is mandated by state building codes in specific applications like doors, sidelights, showers, etc. Please call Glass Doctor if you want more information on this topic.
Yes! We do replace rollers if needed. Of course, we try to clean the tracks and rollers and adjust first. If that does not work, we will discuss replacing the rollers for you.
