They are very unprofessional and we might be homeless playing around with them

You pretty much have to be an infant that is applying and pray that you didn't have parents that would do things under their children's names because their credit is shot to heck! You have to have all prior landlords info, they won't proceed without it. Lord help you if you have an eviction. It even took over a month just to get the interview. Too bad for those of us that have had life happen to us I guess...

They really need to keep up with the times. Apartments are mostly outdated ,no laundry hookups or central air or doorbells or even online rent pay. everyone who lives here need to start requesting online rent pay at least. Not everyone has a car or money for Uber all the time.

Questions & Answers

Do they accept dogs

Lisa Baker | Dec 7, 2021

Yes, but I believe you have to register and pay for them to be there. I don't know if the dog has to be a service dog or not.

Are you connected with any housing in other cities in ill, like chicago

I dont believe so!

How are the rents calculated for an apartment for a 68 year old person? Are there different types of units available (studio; 1bedroom?).

Bud I | Oct 4, 2018
Anne | Oct 4, 2019

Rent is calculated using the resident’s current income level. Any changes to the amount of income received and the rent is re-evaluated. There are numerous housing facilities owned by BHA throughout Bloomington. Each facility differs in their layouts of the units. Wait lists are much longer for certain single bedroom facilities than others, therefore you will have to speak to residential services to see what will be the best fit for you. Or go to their website for descriptions of each Housing site and the units within it. www.bloomingtonha.com

When do you know you have been approved for housing

You will receive a letter within a few weeks after their pre-home visit to your current residence has been completed. The letter will tell you whether or not you have been approved for housing and what steps you should take from there.
