I saw Dr. Jason Darlington in the fall of 2021 for an eye exam and recommendation for lens correction due to cataracts. Was provided 3 options and told the best lens replacement is panoptic , at a cost of $7000. I decided to do panoptic lens replacement and the procedure was done in December 2021. After surgery my eyesight regressed , pressure rose and vision was cloudy. 5 months later, May 2022 Dr. Darlington told me the wrong strength lens was placed in my eyes and I would either need to live with it, get lasik correction ,replace the lens. or get glasses. Later in May 2022, Dr. Darlington replaced the lens in my right eye , 5 and one-half months after the original surgery. Very difficult and rough surgery . My eye sight is better but remains cloudy , irritated and the pressure is still on the higher side. I have paid for continual visits for refraction and pressure check and possible correction beginning after 2 follow up surgical visits , with little change in the discomfort , swelling below the eye, cloudy vision. Visits could last upwards of 2 hours each time. Four months after the replacement surgery , frustrated with no real relief, I decided to see another surgeon and learned the following: first a stitch remained in my cornea from the latest surgery and was removed , secondly I have astigmatisms in both eyes and there are panoptic lens which address and correct this , but in my case was never diagnosed or prescribed. The wrong power lens remains in my left eye as it was too late to replace , given the time lapse and the difficulty in replacing the lens in the right eye. The Eye Institute is a factory of patients many of whom are getting standard lens replacement. As I continue to deal with cloudy vision , swelling and discomfort , surgery from this group would not be a future option, nor would eye exams or treatment recommendations.

They were NOT upfront with the cost involved.... they verified my insurance and quoted me $27/eye, but after I received my bill, all of a sudden, it's $475/eye... wow, not cool.

Earlier this week Dr Jason Darlington performed cataract surgery on my second eye. With that my vision is now perfectly normal. Dr Darlington is the best surgeon in Melbourne and adjoining areas to get these kind of procedures done. I would highly recommend Dr Darlington because he is the best.

Made an appointment after seeing their address was near me. Showed up to the Babcock location and the doors are locked. Turns out they made my appointment at the NASA location and did not inform me that.

I'm definitely not a professional but, I have an opinion. When it comes to our "eyes", each of us are different including the eyes shape, color & the amount of (fluid) vitreous inside your eye. Even the tissue lining and the overall condition of our eyes are different. This also includes your age, gender, vision prescription, the overall condition of the eyes, eye color and if you did or did Not wear sunglasses from childhood or where you lived growing up along with the number of hours your eyes were unprotected from the sun. This also includes your overall Medical Health issues/Diagnosis and medications you take, or if you drink alcohol or caffeine. Our genetics related to eye problems and more have a determining factor on the answer to your question. But, to me, if your eyeball is bleeding, you have more to worry about than asking how many laser shots can you have. I'd be asking Am I going to lose my vision & what do I need to do. I hope an Opthamologist can save your eye/vision.
