This was nice and clean the nurses were just a little slow coming to attend to my godmother she hadn't had a bath when I got there they were late bringing her dinner they need to be on time doing things we should do other than that I'm satisfied.

My friend suffered a devastating loss last week at this facility due to poor patient care and neglect. Her father died after being in care for less than two weeks. His nurse call button did not work, and so in a situation of distress he would have to telephone his wife, my friends mother, so that she could call the nurses station, and request that nurse be sent to his room. He died due to oxygen deprivation which lead to cardiac arrest. His oxygen mask came loose and he was unable to call for help. After his death the facilities treatment of my friend and her family was appalling. They didn't bother to do an exit interview to provide answers or closure to my grieving friend and her mother. They had to piecemeal the story of her father's death together from responding paramedics and hospital staff. When my reached out to the facility to try to better understand the sudden death of her father she was treated rudely by the staff who refused to answer her questions, and ultimately hung up in her face as if her pain and grief were meaningless. Would it have killed the staff to treat my friend and her family like human beings, to answer their question about the death of a loved one, and help them find closure?

If I could give this facility a zero I would. My friend's father came to this facility for rehab after a foot amputation due to diabetes. He was in stable condition after the procedure, however he needed oxygen to help with his breathing. After being home for two months with no problems his sister checked him in to Sandgate in order to learn to use his prosthetic foot; within 10 DAYS of checking into this facility HE DIED due to oxygen deprivation. My friend and her family were understandably devastated by the sudden and unexpected death of her father, and when they reached out to Sandgate seeking answers trying to understand what happened to their father they were met with the most unethical inhumane unconscionable treatment. Not only did the facility refuse to release her father's medical records for his time in care, the repeatedly hung up on my friend and her mother when they called seeking answers, they refused to answer questions or offer any explanation regarding her father's death. Once he passed the facility wanted nothing to do with my friend and her family I can not believe that this sort of behavior and disregard of familia ties is ethical shame on them.
