My dog loves staying at Hoffman Haus, so I was very excited for her to receive training there. I saw the trainer Jim around training dogs and was impressed with his technique and results. He was great talking to me about my dog and her specific needs and recommended board and train. She stayed for a month (I missed her so much!) but it was worth every Penny!!!! She is so high energy and stubborn, I had started to despair of ever getting her to obey a command, but it was like I brought home a new dog! Obviously we both still need a lot of practice but she now has a foundation that I know I couldn’t have achieved on my own. Walks are actually fun now! And “training time” is a fun bonding time rather than frustration. And even better Jim continues to be available for practice sessions and troubleshooting problems (let’s be real, it’s the humans that need the training more than the dogs!). I would recommend him to anyone!

Highly recommend! I did the board and train option for my 4 month old puppy. When I came back to get her she was a completely different dog. Jim taught her all of the basic manners. She was so attentive and listened to every command. Jim also spent over an hour showing us what he had taught her and worked with me and my 10 year old on how to reinforce the commands. He answered all of my questions and gave tips for what to practice on when we got home. I could tell she was very well cared for and she was actually sad to leave. Even after we left we had an amazing car ride home (over an hour) where she has always been very hard to calm down in the car but this time she actually laid down very calmly and even took a nap. When we got home, she was still much easier to handle than before I sent her. She listened to all commands with minimal correction. All of this goes to show I got my moneys worth out of this experience with Jim and that he really took the time to work with her and help her become a more safe and controllable companion for our family. Very happy customer and Jim will absolutely continue to be my “go to” resource for training in the future!!

I have a rescue Pitt Bull and my daughter recently rescued another Pitt. Neither dog was very well socialized when we got them. I had worked with my first dog for about a year including with another trainer. We had made some progress, but she was still reactive and sometimes aggressive with other dogs. My daughter and I each worked with Jim, sometimes seperately and sometime together. I made more progress with my dog in a month then I had made in the prior year. Both dogs are now better trained, and both my daughter and I learned how to be better trainers and handlers. I have recieved many comments from neighbors how much better behaved my dog has become. We have things to work on but we now know how. We will likely re-engage with Jim down the road after we practice at home for a while.

We have used services at Hoffman Haus for about a year. My dog loves getting dropped off and we feel safe leaving our baby there. The staff know his name, as well as all our care preferences. Recently, we sent our dog (who just turned one) for training and it has helped a great deal! The owner is the actual trainer and he is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and kept us updated every step of the way. He also offers refresher training on Saturdays and that is just a huge perk. I highly recommend using Hoffman Haus! They are truly wonderful.
