This place is magic! I got stunned when I watched Oceana Air Show for the first time! Such an unforgettable experience! All the armed forces have my admiration and respect.

Great airshow as usual. Been going last 10 years and the performances NEVER disappoint. Will continue to go each year. A family tradition.

2022 NAS Oceana, VA air show. Absolutely the best air show. Children and adults enjoyed themselves. Vendors were plentiful, military staff and civilians were courteous and professional. Lots of stuff to do for the family such as take pictures with planes, EOD team, Navy Diver tank, merchandise for sale. It was a free event and their were shuttle buses to take patrons to the Mai event. Handicap accessible and accommodating for those with disabilities. OUTSTANDING event.

They usually announce it...
Before you go to the front door if you don't have an entry pass, you must go to Oceana NAS Pass ID to get your authorization to enter the base. https://maps.app.goo.gl/mjwB8
I'd check with the security precient that would have a better idea as to where it is .
Every day the base is operating and the most common plane that takes flight is the F-18 fighter jet
I don't see why not but I'm not sure where you would use the blanket.
Yes
I am not sure
Never, it is still NAS Oceana, there are some Marines stationed there though.
More the likely its F-18, there are over 100 stationed at this master jet base...we rarely get F-22, or F-35 on base...we train everyday for the fight.. that's probably why so many sorties
Shouldn't be a problem. You can schedule an appointment here: https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. Occasionally you'll see a legacy Hornet if it is a Marine Hornet. Navy stopped flying the Legacy Hornets (C/D).
Every day the pilots are training
Aviation museum Virginia Beach does tours there occasionally
Absolutely!
Yep
Yes, it's right before the main gate across from Pass & ID.
I do not think it's possible but it doesn't hurt to ask
Have him either call the gate security, or come to the gate to escort you in
First building on the right past the front gate. Use far right lane
Usually starting at 6am and lasting 45 minutes past the time you want to go to bed. M-F and ever weekend.
Should say are there any tours? Sorry.
Dec 31st?
I think you can bring your own chairs... Don't quote me on that though
Thank you much!
I used to work at the hangar that hosts it. Water and snacks are generally permissible, there are food trucks and cheap stuff available
As far as I know the air show is still on.
I stayed there a couple of weeks and i have to say the house didn't bother me at all.... -65
