They buy varieties that are Redbook listed, like tha 55 DDO penny. They just rotated their staff tho, and last time I went didn't seem very fair... So I've decided to buy and sell exclusively on eBay. I'm not saying don't visit, just my last personal experience.
TL;DR: It depends. I'm not affiliated with them, but as a coin collector I can tell you that a lot of a coin's value depends on its condition. 1942 Walker Half Dollars could be as cheap as $8.66 (the coin's value in silver) or as expensive as $500-$1000, and potentially more depending on the mint mark, condition, and if it has a variety that makes it more valuable or toning, which amounts to a nice color on top of an original surface due to exposure to trace elements from the air or packaging the coin was stored in. However, keep in mind that the prices I just quoted are market price, which means that's what the owners of a coin store will likely try to sell it for, rather than what they'll pay you for it. They need to make a profit to keep the roof over their heads and coins. I can tell you that they usually price their coins spot on for the value the book assigns, but I've never sold to them, so I don't know what percentage of that value you'd get in return.
