After seeing that over 100 people have reviewed my first post, I have decided to update this post again. The one reason why I am giving 3 stars is because this doctor has helped to deliver my first baby with no serious complications. I do appreciate that the baby is now doing fine and growing well. However, now that the baby is born, the potential postpartum complications that may come up appear to be disregarded. Referrals for a breast pump, mental health services and/or any other requests are not being taken care of in a timely fashion. I scheduled an appointment about 1 week after delivery since my left breast was swollen and I was not sure if it was possible mastitis due to my left breast having clogged milk ducts. I was asked to go to a local hospital to get checked. Then, when I managed to see her directly at her office, the appointment was done quickly and awkwardly with what appeared to be no regard for my anxiety or emotional concerns. A referral for a possible counselor in reference to mental health appeared to be refused even though the nurse on duty did try to ask on my behalf. After reviewing various websites, it is clear that postpartum depression and a woman's emotional well-being overall is just as crucial after delivery, including the recommendations that are provided by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Whenever I called in December 2018, I was always placed on hold. As of early January 2019, I have decided to move on to another doctor and will have my medical records transferred since eventually I do intend on trying to have another child. The new ob/gyn was much better and showed sincere concern for my health, especially since my elevated blood pressure could be a sign of postpartum preeclampsia.

She was my OB/GYN for over 20 years. She delivered my daughter 19 years ago. She was and will continue to be a great doctor. Her staff was always friendly and professional. Going to miss you in the field doc...Happy Retirement!

If I can get a -0*I will I am a single mom of two disabled kids and it’s hard for me to find a babysitter so I try to schedule my appointments at 5:30 or after lately I’ve been struggling to have anyone help me watch my kids so that I can go to my prenatal visits and the times that I can’t make it I’ll try to call them to cancel but of course they never pick up so I called today after a month of waiting of changing my insurance HMOBecause the one I had they didn’t except they finally sent me out to another place to get an ultrasound in Union City I found out I was 14 weeks and a half and after that they never called to scheduled me an appointment to follow up so I called today to see what was going on and they said that Ive been discharged from the office meaning that I can no longer attend with my doctor And my Prenatal visitation to basically find somewhere else ..mind you before she sent me for an ultrasound my doctor had to finish something that was wrong with me but she said she wanted to make sure how many months I was before she started procedure long story short she didn’t do the procedure I’m still walking around with infection I’m five months pregnant and they do not want to take me n I felt like I should talk to someone n she said there’s no one talk too to call back Monday “am not gonna lie JESSICA was always helpful and very understanding to my situation “ and when I try to talk to her her co worker say she’s not there call back Monday and today is Tuesday since day one I enter this place I feel like I was in high school talking to a bunch of immature girls With no knowledge of professionalism I’m highly upset and I cry as I write this I’m five months pregnant I’m in pain and I don’t anything about my child and I haven’t even seen the specialist to basically make sure my baby is OK this doctor office and the office workers should all be fired should be ashamed of themselves and I will make sure everybody but I know we’re not and I definitely will speak to a lawyer and talk to them about cause this is not right at allll 😞😭🤰🏻🙏🏼🙏🏼

Questions & Answers

Did Dr. Lay retire? I called her office and was told she is no longer at this medical building.

Did you call her old office or the Empire Medical office? They called me a few months ago to reschedule my appointment with someone else; they told me she was on medical leave. I’ll find out tomorrow as my appointment is booked for 8 am.

They speak in Spanish???
