This place is not even close to how much we used to enjoy back in 2011 when studying at Vanderbilt. I heard the management changed since. For instance, Woodlands is a symbolic meaning/ hailing from Udupi, Karnataka, and I would try and focus on the niche of South Indian food when there is already a huge market. There's no need for other North Indian food when several folks are putting the same foods out there. Secondly, the service and hospitality are not even close. South Indians are known for their distinct hospitality and service. As the adage goes, 'Your guest is like a God.' Business like the churning of dishes, placement without human touch or smile is what I can remember of it now. Thirdly, hailing from the coastal belt of Mangalore, I can say the food is just about mediocre and not close to the typical mesmerizing South Indian flavors. Clearly, the addition of other North Indian or Indian- Chinese dishes took away from what was left. Lastly, the price is steep. This place, by all means, is a gem for a vegetarian frenzy like me but tantalizing your taste buds with the authentic South Indian aroma or taste– that I'm not so sure about. All in all, nothing to reminisce.

Food and service were both excellent. We ordered the Woodlands Special Thali and it was definitely enough for two. We liked everything we ate!

Wow wow wow! Service is amazing. Portions are perfect. Food is out of this world! And very, very fresh. We got bhel puri, dahi batata puri, haka noodles and veg manchurian. Each bite was a literally flawless flavor explosion. Plate-lickingly good! 10/10 recommend.

Great location, great service and amazing and delicious food. This is a pure vegetarian restaurant and has a wide variety of fresh options. We tried the weekend buffet and simply loved it . They have palak paneer , pakodas , veg manchurian , idlis dosas etc . My personal favorite was the rice kheer(pudding) Definitely try out this place . Highly recommended

They are open again!
The buffet isn't Jain. If you are going for ala carte, they can prepare Jain food for you
I'll answer my own question. Yes, you can BYOB, and no, there isn't a corking fee.
