I love this park. Over 100 camping spots available ranging from full hookups to primitive camping. Nice Beach area along the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. Nature trails, history, cabins on the lake, and awesome wildlife. Something for everyone.

I love the nature here. Just walked in the sand and went for a swim. ⭐ The showers and bathrooms are closed due to damage from hurricane Ida. So be prepared not to have a place to rinse off or change clothes. Port a potties were available. I will return to walk the trails another day.
Yes. We camp there multiple times a year. There are unimproved sites just for tents, and improved with electric and water hookup for either tent or camper.
Most definitely! The park has beautiful trails to take nice long walks on. They also have a splash pad for the kids as well as playgrounds. There is also plenty of grounds to explore.
I suggest getting there nice and early so as to catch the local deer while they are out and about.
The Tammany Trace runs through the park, and horseback riding is allowed along that path. However, horses are not allowed on the park's trails. Bogue Chitto State Park, near Franklinton, would be the closest State Park were horseback riding is allowed on site.
Considering that it is a very popular place to go, and one of the few campgrounds that offer beach access to Lake Ponchartrain, it gets pretty busy, but not unbearable.
Though I suppose you could bluff your way through, we had to pay a daily use fee plus and additional fee to use the dump station. The campground area is separate from the "daily use" area and I don't believe that daily users really should be in the campground or using those facilities.
Though I didn't look for a designated potable water spigot, the one at the dump station is non-potable. Potable ones are located at each improved camp site.
For definitive answers to what each fee actually allows, the park staff should be the ones answering the questions. What "is", "should be", and "what you can get away with once you're in the park" is too subject to opinions of people who may or may not be following the rules.
As stated above I would contact the park directly but I would think the only charge would be the per person day use fee. Always see wedding shoot by the beach and Pavillion and under the huge oaks.
Camping year round although unless you're in a camper the summer is hot outdoors in a tent. There isn't a boat launch in the park but people launch kayaks off the beach in the lake.
I am not sure about fishing but you don't need a reservation for visiting the beach. You just have a $3 ticket to enter the state park which you can buy during the visit. Park also has some beautiful trails to walk
The website is pretty accurate on the site lengths. We were in site 3 with a 42ft 5th wheel and 22 ft truck and could have parked another truck in our space with room left over
My question was gonna be do they have water at tent sites.Tickfaw state park has water at the tent sites but not electricity. We were just wanting to switch up once in a while.
Martha Hill, yes they do allow tents in RV area, you will pay a little more, but have access to water electricity and the restrooms are clean and close by. They also have only tent sites available as well...again, very nice State Park.
Whatever you can fit. No limit that I know of..... but keep I'm mind the park layout was designed back when a giant fiver was considered to be 30 ft. Turns are tight, theres low limbs and the road beds are all built up. That being said, I was able to navigate my 36 into one of the tent camping pull through spots. BUT it took work and alot spotting. Enjoy! and bring big spray!
Just for future reference, the parks are open 365 days a year; the historic sites are the ones that close on Christmas Day (as well as on Thanksgiving and New Year's Day).
They have sites to suit just about any RV type and some have s/w/e. If you have a large class A be aware some of the roads are a bit narrow with tight turns around trees. They are all passable, but if you're pulling a toad, you might want to disconnect at the front gate. Also, if the ground is saturated when you're there, be careful not to get off the paved surface.
What is the current status of privatizing Fountainbleu into a conference center, golf course and water park?
Was there a recent meeting, discussion or PR event with Mr. Nungesser? If so where can I find a transcritp of the event?
Thanks.

This seems like the wrong place to get such answers but I sure hope they are all "never" and "no way."
What time do i need to be there for community service?

Theirs different times for the day use call them their
My wife and got married there, but we rented the group 3 cabins. It's a private area away from the park so people won't crash your wedding.
I think it was only $500 for the werkend.
Depends. Website has more accurate details but it ranges from $20-$33 a night depending on hook-ups. I don't know how they specify on maximums on tent numbers, but i do know they have maximums.
I want to get married here. How much is it to rent the area between the pond and the lake ? I want to set up chairs there. And is the building next to it useable for a reception? Does anyone know?
