If you have a family Member with a health condition do not come to this base. Do not come to Louisiana at all. 5 month wait for appointments but they will not allow you to go elsewhere. This is literally the worst medical command I've ever seen.

The navy medical is absolutely the worst I’ve ever seen. Their level of incompetence totally absurd. They should not be allowed to remain open.

All of the stars are for Mrs. Howell, the branch mgr. I don’t like “going to the manager” but I’ve had nothing but issues with everyone else in the reception area. From never answering any of the phones to the lack of positive attitude in person. Mrs. Howell has made sure that I was able to get the care that I needed and in a timely manner. She also has a positive attitude and genuinely cares. I would also like to recommend Dr. Walter, she’s the best.

I had my bad experiences with medical- now I receive my care off base but I do get my prescriptions through their pharmacy. Even though you call it in and go on the day & time given, you will still need to wait 30/45 mins and/or they will say they don’t have it ready until the next day.

Yes.
When you visit a doctor's office and they prescribe medication, you need to tell them that you pick up prescriptions at the base pharmacy. Then you go there and check in at the pharmacy and pick up your prescription. Hope this helps.
