Today my mom was brought to Elim Park for a short term rehab stay. I was anxious to see her as my mom was worried about the trip from the hospital. Knowing COVID restrictions are still in play, I was also anxious about what to expect upon entry. I had looked at the website and knew there may be some other things to I be unaware of. When I entered the building, I received a very unfriendly welcome by the woman at the front desk. First, she was not wearing her mask over her mouth (I believed it is required by all?!?) which surprised me. The woman just had it hanging off her ear. Second, knowing it was my first visit, there was no greeting or any empathy shown by this woman. It would have been nice to be welcomed. She made me feel like I was secondary. Lastly, coming from a very highly patient/ family oriented hospital (Griffin hospital), I am worried the treatment with my mother will be the same as mine. Coming from a customer service background, I know how first impressions are important. However, mistakes can be made. So I am excited to meet the rest of the staff and the recovery/experience of my mom.

My stay in Elim Park rehab was a very rewarding experience. Physical therapy staff are compassionate and caring. They take a personalized approach in treating each patient. And I found all the Elim Park staff professional and attentive.
