I can't get a hold of the individual auditor responsible for my case. They only communicate by mail instead of using email and online documents. IRS mailed their response to my old address, which I never got. After waiting for 2 months, I had to spend over 2 hours waiting on hold just to ask them to resend it. Their reasons for audit adjustments were extremely vague and were 2 sentences long for over $30,000 of adjustments! They should be called the Irritate and Rob Service (IRS)!

This office claims we did not file our partnership taxes of 2019. Even through we sent them to Kansas city Mo office in Feb 18th 2020. Amazing one office can't find a return maybe the virus bug stopped the irs internet connections

You can't even get on hold when you want to make an appointment. I had trouble getting to be able to sit on hold for a person. Lol

It's best to call them on a Wed or Thurs, early evenings (6pm-ish)
You can request an Account Transcript for the year or years in question. The transcript would show if a return was filed and who the primary taxpayer is on that return. To do this, you can set up an online user account on IRS.gov. Go to the transcript page (tax account information) and take it from there. If you can't view the transcript information from the website, you can order it to be mailed to your address of record at no charge.

Customer service phone number 1-800-829-1040 no phone number directly to this office.
Holtsville location is a closed facility. Not open to the public. There are IRS locations in Hauppauge and Bethpage for walk-in assistance. Call for an appointment.

That office doesn't have in person appointments, you should look up a taxpayer assistance center thats local to you, they do in person
Call early 7am
I would call them 1-800-829-1040. It could have been put on a different account by accident or a different year for your tax returns by accident
Go to irs.gov
Good luck...I threw mine out by mistake and went round and round for days trying to talk to someone... til I was told to send an IRS Refund Form 3911 marked EIS (Economic Impact Stimulus) at the top . But the mailing address to which it was to be sent that was published on the internet was wrong. I've resent it (by FAX and certified mail this time) but it's been since early May that it's been going on. You could try that too.
This would depend on the issue or what forms/information you are sending. If you are replying to a letter, there would be a fax number listed on the letter if that department can accept faxed responses.
7 pm local time
Call the Brookhaven campus in Holtsville.
You can get notices from holtsville, Atlanta, Fresno, Austin, Andover... It all depends on who did the work on your claim. You send to Atlanta and they send it to who needs work. Call 1800 829 0922 confirm you identity and ask about the letter. It's recorded if it's ligit. Only Taxpayer Protection letters and certain Identify theft is not recorded.
OIC I believe is quite a bit longer than 45 days. And not handled by toll free. Check irs.gov
Start by visiting the IRS website, IRS.gov (also check the NYS Dept of Taxation's website). From there, you may be able to determine if you need to file a return. Depending on your income level and/or age, you may be eligible for free Federal tax preparation. If needed, forms and instructions can be printed from the website or ordered by phone. For a fee, you could use online tax software that makes online tax preparation and filing easier. However, if you don't want to deal with the legwork, you can search for paid tax preparers near you like H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt.
Check your returns, claims, etc to ensure there is no typo/error with your SSN. You can also call the Social Security Administration if needed.
I just send something. PO Box 480 Stop 660 (Don't know what "stop" means.)
If your first payment is more than the $107 then it will be deducted from the first payment. If not you should have received an Installment Agreement letter in the mail you can send your payment to that address. You must state what year the fee is for.
