Amazing crew, great attention to the small stuff. They took care of the problem in our home without disrupting our day to day too badly. They also left everything and everywhere very clean. Awesome work.

Our mold problem was a diagnostic dilemma. We were certain that our mold in the corner of the basement was from the recent storm. We were so sure, we had the outside dug up but nothing was found. When PuroClean arrived, they noted the pattern of wall wetness and suspected a leaking pipe. They tore out the wet walls and found that the guilty party was a waste pipe that had cracked. They moved furniture from all the affected places, cleaned it, and contained the area where mold was to be removed, so that the rest of the house was not contaminated. They did a fabulous job of mold removal such that looking at the wood and metal that had been exposed would never offer a clue as to the problem. They left dehumidifiers and air purifiers to thoroughly clean the area and make it possible for plumbers to safely come and fix the origin point. They removed all the moldy insulation and drywall and left the inner foundation wall and wooden supports spotless. I highly recommend PuroClean. They came the day after I called, estimated the scope of work involved, quoted a very fair price, and then started work the very next day. In less than a week, all mold was removed and a dehumidifier and air purifier was left on site for several more days to thoroughly clean the air. Five plus stars!

My house is less than five years old but the builder put the second floor tub in wrong so it began to leak. I had a friend with a similar leak who had raved about this company so I called PuroClean of Southern Westchester. They were able to come the same day and remove the water damage. They were so nice and professional. They explained everything to me and even helped me deal with the insurance company. I have never had such an easy experience before. They worked quickly and cleaned everything after. I am so grateful for PuroClean of Southern Westchester! Highly recommended!!!!

Questions & Answers

Do I really need professional cleanup if the fire was small?

In most losses, cleaning the soot and smoke is the toughest part. Moreover, even small fires can cause major damage within minutes and leave lingering odors if not cleaned up properly. If you don’t act within a day or two of the fire, soot and smoke can leave permanent damage. Professionals have the tools and know-how to restore your home as quickly as possible and mitigate the loss.

How long does it usually take for mold to grow or spread?

PuroClean of Southern Westchester | Oct 3, 2018

Mold can begin to grow within 24 to 48 hours after water damage and it can spread quickly, especially when it is disrupted. Rubbing it or spraying air against it can cause the mold spores to break off into the air, potentially causing illnesses.

How do certified technicians typically handle water damage?

The first thing professionals do is remove damaged materials that will either be restored or discarded. Materials include baseboards, insulation, furniture, carpeting, upholstery, carpet padding, fragile woods, drywall, and more. After the damaged items are removed, the technicians begin drying out the water and disinfecting the areas. Specialized tools like air movers and dehumidifiers are typically involved in the drying process. Professionals will also handle mold damage in the restoration process. Mold-infected surfaces will be disinfected and restored as quickly as possible to prevent it from spreading.
