As a case manager myself, well-being and safety are my top priority and this facility does not provide neither. I have a friend who recently had her mother in the facility who is no longer there due to numerous concerns. Currently she is placed in another facility where she is thriving in their care. I am unsure of how she can go from declined health to being in preparation to possibly be discharged. Although there has been many concerns with how she was treated at this facility the one that stood out the most is the fact that someone in that facility has traumatized her in where she is screaming out a name begging them to not hit her and attempting to persuade them that she is a good person. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Firs all I want to say if I could give this place a zero I would. My mom had a stroke at 69 years old. Her name is Shirley Epps. She was sent to this place from CMC main. Within a month and half my mom had a massive stroke and a heart attack being here. She left the hospital walking but got to this place and now can not walk and is bed ridden. She almost died. I went to the facility to collect her things and was told she told them she did not have children and brought her things to the front door and refused to let me and my brother in the facility. When she got to he new facility was streaming a womens name and said the women was hitting her at Wilora lakes. This new facility asked me who was this lady and that lady must have really did something to her. Do not take your love ones here there is Elderly abuse going on here and I will report them to the Governor and the BBB.

Unfortunately I suffered a stroke in 2017, at the age of 40, and it left me paralyzed on the left side of my body and my family couldn’t provide me with the 24 hour care that I needed, so my father found Wilora Lake because He was told that I would receive the best physical therapy to help me with my recovery; however,, He learned that He was lied to, and I didn’t receive any physical therapy, or cared for properly. I lived in this nasty facility for a year, until He found a cleaner and much better facility, that was committed to really helping patients back to recovery. I was beyond happy to leave this Medicaid fraud facility, and I wouldn’t recommend it to an animal!!!

I would rate it a negative one if possible! My father in law was sent here after his caregiver (his wife) passed away suddenly. He was in the best shape he had been in in years when he was discharged from the hospital to Wilora Lake. He was quarantined for 14 days due to not having the COVID vaccine. We were not allowed to see him during this time. But everyone that I spoke with assured me that he was fine and being taken care of. On day 16, he was taken to Presbyterian Hospital almost in a coma. He was sepsis and almost died. They had allowed him to lay there and almost die! When I have called MULTIPLE times seeking answers, no one will speak to me regarding his care. I have been lied to non stop as to why they can't speak to me and how he was when they sent him to the hospital. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. It breaks my heart to think of him laying there with infection spreading in his body and no one taking care of him.

There are many decisions that go into the process of choosing a nursing home for yourself or someone you care for. It is normal for the family and the resident to experience some degree of anxiety about the move. A life change as important as moving into a nursing home should be handled with care and should be made as comfortable as possible. Residents and family members can make the transition easiest by remaining informed and by proactively seeking a caring environment where the resident will feel most at home. During the transition, frustrations may occur while your loved one is becoming accustomed to the new surroundings.

Hospitals are designed for patients who have serious medical problems that can be treated only in a hospital. Insurance companies may review and stop insurance benefits when you no longer need acute hospital care. A nursing center can provide the continuing medical care and rehabilitation services you need to help you recover from illness or injury so that you can return home as soon as possible.

The social worker at the hospital or nursing center will assist you in determining the appropriate payer source (which may include Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance). If you need Medicaid to cover the cost of nursing home care, you will be referred to a Medicaid worker to help you with the Medicaid application process.
