If you value your life, health, and home we can’t recommend Wells & Sons Chimney Service in our experience. Full story: We hired Wells and Sons Chimney Service to clean and inspect our gas burning fireplace. They discovered the chimney lining completely deteriorated and a fire hazard leaking carbon monoxide into the house. July of 2020 we contracted them to install a Fireguard mortar joint system in the chimney to correct the problems. Assuming our fireplace was now clean and safe to use we had a gas fireplace specialist come out to turn the gas back on and adjust the gas logs. During visual inspection the specialist noticed the entire smoke chamber was not lined, therefore still unsafe for use and leaking CO. The specialist contacted Wells himself and they stated “maybe it fell off”. Wells & Son then came back to reapply the smoke chamber lining. A year later, per the warranty requirement, Wells & Son returned to do an annual inspection, their report states “no defects”. Since the warranty requires an annual inspection and we weren’t feeling confident in Wells at this point we contacted another chimney company for the annual inspection. The new company discovered a 3’x2.5’ section of the smoke chamber was completely uncoated and numerous holes that were still leaking CO into the our home, they immediately turned off gas to the fireplace. We contacted Wells & Son at this point and their General Manager agreed to come out and do his own inspection. Wells & Son’s GM confirmed the third-party’s findings were accurate, stating that “this was a big miss” and agreed that it was never applied to the uncoated area, not that it had “fell off”. The GM offered to fix the uncoated areas again, but after two failed attempts at repair already and an inaccurate and dangerous inspection report the previous year how could we possibly trust them with our lives again? Instead we asked for a full refund so we can have the chimney fixed correctly and safely. We were instead offered an insultingly low amount that isn’t even a drop in the bucket for a proper repair of the mess they created. We have been told the owner will contact us to discuss these issues. Still waiting...

I could not be more pleased with the overall experience. I had water running down my furnace exhaust every time it rained. After and inspection, Wells and Sons determined that I had a cracked chimney crown. I received a transparent and up-front estimate within a day of their initial inspection. On the day of the service, the technician arrived on time and kept me informed of his progress throughout the day. Ultimately, he determined that the original estimate included services that I didn't actually need. I would not have never known the difference, but they were open and honest about that fact. I ended up saving several hundred dollars in materials and labor. I greatly appreciate the quality of the work and the integrity to not charge me for unnecessary services. Outstanding experience.

Yes! Stucco doesn’t have to be a one-dimensional siding choice! In addition to adding different textures, colors and patterns, stucco can also be molded to mimic the look of stone. This decorative treatment is perfect for homeowners who want the look of custom stonework but simply don’t have it in their budget.
Hi James, we certainly do. Please give our office a call to book your appointment at your earliest convenience! We look forward to serving you again!
Yes, we recommend you at least have your gas fireplace inspected annually.
A typical chimney sweep lasts about 1.5 - 2 hours.
No. Many homeowners believe that painting their masonry, especially with a clear paint or sealant, is the same thing as waterproofing. However, these products are not designed for masonry and may have the opposite of the intended effect; rather than keeping water out, they trap water in! Masonry waterproofing products are specially designed to help bricks maintain their porous nature while still repelling water. This allows any moisture that is in the masonry to harmlessly evaporate rather than remain trapped where it can cause further damage. This unique formula is what allows our waterproofing products to extend the life of your masonry, even if there has been previous water damage.
