An all-but-dead venerable NY institution. No one answers phone, as all customer service people have quit. Nothing in store on 59th - shelves all but bare. Website says wines in-stock, but only for pre-order. So many great wine shops in the city nowadays - avoid this one at all costs

Buy your wine anywhere else. This once great wine store is now a pariah. They'll provide you with an email confirmation and an expected delivery date only to notify you weeks later that they in fact never had the wine in the first place. While other wine stores in Manhattan will deliver to your door in as little as 30 minutes, Sherry-Lehmann takes weeks just to let you know nothing is coming. UPDATE: it’s been 2 weeks since I posted this (4 weeks since their promised delivery date) and they still haven’t delivered my order.

Exceptionally poor, non-existent service. No one answers the phone or responds to emails. They advertise wines they do not have in stock. You pay. Weeks later when they haven’t arrived, you cancel your order and are promised a refund. It never comes, and then for over a week now no one there picks up the phone or responds to emails. Before giving them your credit card online, just try to call them or email them. You’ll see.
