Felt overwhelmed by the druggy filled community in there. Serious dealers dealing resin, no policing what so ever. Felt unsafe a lot of the time and shaken up by the large homeless population in an around the building. Beds were amenable and could have been more soft. Generally a horrible experience with a minority hosteller which could have been monitored more carefully by more consisentious staff

A great place to live. Its is like a beautiful bed and breakfast place. They have an amazing spread of fresh breakfast in the morning. There are laundry facilities and kitchen facility.

I went to HI Sacramento for a wedding. My first thought was that it would be dirty but it was actually really cool and clean inside. It's dark, vintage, moody and perfect for photos. All areas were clean, including the kitchen and bathroom. The game room was clean too. A different but cool place.

If you are checking in the day of your arrival, after 3pm, you should be in the computer. They didn't do check in before 3pm
I don't think check-in is until the afternoon but they might let you check in early if your room/bed is available. There's a coffee shop, latin restaurant (great breakfast) and lots of other stuff within walking distance while you wait.
There is a parking lot to the side of the hostel but it's $6 if you want to park there. There is also Meter street parkin right in the front of the Hostel. As far as I know it's free on Sundays until 8 a.m. next morning Monday. Hope that helps
Yea, but its always good to be on the safe side. Keep your valuables witb you or with the office staff. But HI Sacramento is a nice safe comfortable place...

Private rooms cost different prices depending on amenities. You need to call them to find out what's available. The best rooms are on the second floor. This hostel has some beautiful rooms.
Hi John, to answer your question, sometimes we are fully booked due to a conference or event, or in the event of a full house rental. For example, this weekend we are hosting a wedding party that has rented out the entire mansion for their private event. We recommend checking our website for availability or giving us a call to check for any vacancies in the future, and to book a reservation as soon as you are aware of your travel plans to get the best available rate. No, there are multiple public restroom locations throughout the hostel.
There are several restaurants near by on K St that are easily within walking distance. The person at the hostel's front counter should be able to direct you.

There are two co-ed dorms. Room 12 is located on the Metro Level (downstairs, wheelchair accessible) and room 24 which is located on the second floor.
Yes all of them are a 14day limit for one year yup that's right.so to be absolutely clear you get 14 days in complete in a whole year per hostel that's it that's all shocking I know.
