Mrs. Evva Hanes is one of the most interesting and knowledgeable people that you will ever know. She is a wonderful cook and a great gardener. Her family history goes back to the early settlers of Old Salem. The first book of recipes and remembrances is titled "Supper's at Six & We're Not Waiting", by Evva Foltz Hanes. It was published in 1998 by Heritage Press Whitline Ink, incorporated. If you are looking for a copy, it will have to come from a secondary source. The book sold out shortly after it was reviewed by the L A Times around 2004. Her second book is titled "Supper's at Six & We're Not Waiting, Second Seating", by the same publisher in 2007. I believe there are copies still available at the bakery. Incidentally the photos inside the covers of the 2nd book are of her Moravian style garden and fountain and of her beautiful large kitchen. Cooking and gardening are two of her great passions.
