This is the most that I've ever paid for an oil change - $82 + Tax. I usually pay around $40 or $50 but we moved here recently and I chose this place based on all the positive reviews. I will definitely try to find a cheaper place next time or do it myself. Usually they give you a choice on what kind of oil you want to use and I usually go with the cheaper oil since I always have it changed on a regular basis. When he said it was $82 for synthetic, I asked if there was a choice. He said the only other choice was $60 something and "The System" recommends the synthetic. I said OK, for $20 more, go ahead and put in the synthetic. On my invoice it says: Oil Change Labor $21 - not unreasonable. Oil Filter $12 - 100% markup, but OK. Oil 5 Qts + Fluids $26.99 - again Not Unreasonable. Valvoline 5W20 Max Life $6.30 - I guess a surcharge for the synthetic oil? IDK Max Life Oil Upgrade $15 - How many times you gonna charge me for the oil ?? That's $48 for 5 Quarts of Valvoline Max Life that I can buy at Walmart for $22. I understand inflation and all, but $80 for an oil change is just too much.
