Very nice staff in attendance there! The puppies are adorable. They're very playful; a little poodle mix was so cute and sweet and full of life. We played for the longest time. I tried to sneak away and I could see him peeping, trying to keep an eye on me. The others were just as playful and so sweet. Of course I wanted them all, especially that little poodle. My ♥️ stayed behind with him.

The weirdo with the beard who works the front counter is absolutely unpleasant to say the least. The employees who work in the fish area pretend they know what they’re talking about but you will literally get conflicting advice from EVERY employee who works there. We bought two pleco they both died within 48 hours. They argued with us about the return policy and tried to not replace the dead fish. Had our water tested they told us our water looked great. Second pleco dies, I call the store and the employee got nasty with me immediately and refused to let me speak to the manager. Absolutely 10000% will never be back

We usually have nice young, locally raised g pigs. Call the store for current inventory once they open tomorrow 381-3870 Country Club Plaza- opens at 10am Also could call the main store in Ridgemont Plaza 225-8700- opens at 9am (new batches of g pigs arrive there and some go to the other store)
Go to Pet World in Greece Ridgemont Plaza I believe that's the name of the plaza but they sell them there
Masks required and social distancing where possible. Of course we're doing extra cleaning of high touch surfaces, etc. Open regular hours. We welcome curbside pick up, just call 585-381-3870 to chat in advance.
Yes, Dr Wilkes-Hoh from Eastridge (in Irondequoit) visits our store to examine puppies after arrival and we also usually use that practice if we have any problems. We also might suggest Fairport Animal Hospital if you're out in that neighborhood. Both are excellent vets that we have used for decades.
Yes, thanks for asking. We have been open all along as an essential service but with slightly reduced hours, now getting closer to our original hours. Currently Ridgemont closes at 8pm and the Country Club Plaza store closes at 7pm. Sundays earlier but regular hours. So 10 to 7 at Country Club today. Masks required and please help by observing social distance of course.
Yes, we have a few puppies for sale at the Country Club Plaza store. They can help you by phone at 381-3870 as to what is available. The Ridgemont Plaza location on the west side is our larger store but doesn't carry puppies, just cats for adoption by GRASP as they are available.
No, we no longer can sell hedgehogs. A USDA rule change a few years back added hedgehogs, sugar gliders, and prairie dogs to the list of mostly wild animals requiring a USDA licensed facility to sell them. Very few pet stores in the US are USDA licensed as the paperwork requirements that spill over to other animals are pretty excessive, like tracking every mouse and rat sold as to purchaser identity information. So we gave up hedgehogs at that time as it only affected our hedgehogs. Be sure if you are looking for a hedgehog, which do make good pets, that you buy from a USDA licensed source and not somebody operating under the radar illegally. Also be aware of the recent salmonella outbreak in hedgehogs (just Google CDC hedgehog outbreak). Like many animals, hedgehogs can carry salmonella. It's not dangerous to own a hedgehog, you just need to be aware to wash your hands after handling, monitor kids, keep it and it's materials away from cooking areas & immune compromised people, etc.
We only sell puppies at the Country Club plaza store. We occasionally have a Bichon Frise, but because we only stock a few select puppies at a time, you should call the store directly to inquire. 585-381-3870
We occasionally have a beginning animal care position open for 14 or 15 year olds but minimum 16 for other jobs. Both require working papers if in school and the hours are limited by law. If you are interested in having an application on file, stop in to the store and fill one out. Always best to ask to talk to the manager or asset manager if they are there.
No, we don't currently stock tarantulas, etc at either of our stores here. Haven't heard of any other local stores either, but can't hurt to call around. REXPO, the local reptile show isn't till April 6th and while I don't remember seeing them there, I'm sure you can make connections there if not.
Anywhere from 600 -3000 depending on the breed
