This is a beautiful forest, especially in the spring when the stream is running strong. The hike can be a little confusing and easy to loose your way if unfamiliar. Use AllTrails or Gaia to help with that. The outside loop is about 2 miles. Lots of tree roots on the paths. Back again early spring a year later… still gorgeous here! Came late afternoon after raining all day, not a problem to navigate here, easy to get around the few puddles, no bugs.

This place is a beautiful forest preserve that helps protect the local water supply. The streams are pristine. There are beautiful old groves of gnarly mountain laurel. I hiked the orange loop in mid-october near the end of a sunny day. The late afternoon sunlight, coupled with the woods and streams make this a magical place!!. Parking for 5 cars. Watch closely for the entrance sign at the Sid of the road in the woods.

Very woodsy paths. Easy to follow except when our excessive rains flooded path. Bring bug spray and watch for ticks. Map could be better.
