The cinnamon rolls were amazing, had raisin, will definitely buy those again, 10seconds in microwave, just need a taller container, so the icing isn't completely stuck to the lid! Love the smell of the store!

Old-fashioned bakery with foods like those baked in an outside wood-fire oven, so not a big selection, but it is what it is. Back in the 1700's the selection wasn't like it is today. Part of old-town Salem, NC. Lots to see in the area, and not nearly enough time to see most of it. We were only here for a couple of hours and these old legs and hips had enough. 😊

They do not do cakes. They specialize in old school Moravian baked goods: Sugar Cake, Moravian cookies, cheese straws, Lovefeast Buns. Also, because of COVID they are closed. The historic museum they are a part of is not open at this time. If you are looking for a cake in Winston-Salem, try Cheesecakes by Alex, 3 Layer Cakery, and Dewey's Bakery (the bakery selling Winkler's items). I'm not sure any of them do 7 layers though. Also other bakers in town, but I don't know them.

Dewey's Bakery is making sugar cake and love fest buns, you can order though them - but I don't think they ship baked goods, but packaged cookies.
The Moravian cookies are good, but I cannot recall the price for a bag. My family likes them!
I understood the baking was being done elsewhere. They may fire the ovens for education purposes.

They do sell pound cake slices...lemon..butter rum...apple.. and chocolate...2.79 a slice I think
