I just moved from California to Georgia and have not yet established care for my children. My son school wrote me stating he’s missing two of his required immunization and he would be kicked out of school if we don’t have it by next week. My son is autistic and also struggles with anxiety, I know how difficult it is to get him vaccinated, we tried in the past and we were unsuccessful. I wasn’t sure we would be successful this time either but I took him anyways. When we to the Rockdale Health Dept our nurse on duty was Nurse Marlene, I explained my son’s diagnosis and how difficult it has been. She was so understanding and patient, she treated my son with compassion and love. After so many unsuccessful tries, I was ready to go but nurse Marlene was still very calm and kind she keep on talking to my boy encouraging him he got comfortable and trusted her with his arm and sat down for both shots. When we were coming out the building my son expressed to me how thankful he is of the nurse (nurse Marlene) and he was sorry for mistakenly knocking her glass from her eyes. Thank you nurse Marlene for your service, your patient and compassion. I know going forward my son will be more comfortable with getting his vaccinations.

My adult son went to the Rockdale County Health Department yesterday to get a Covid test. The person who "helped" him was rude and basically ran him out of there, spraying Lysol behind his back. I couldn't believe the treatment he received. He was horrified as was I. The employees should be trained professionals equipped to handle such matters. He was demeaned and treated poorly. Very disappointed with the whole situation. 😌😌

I’ve been going to this location for 2 years. the staff here is always amazing; they took care of my brother when he wasn’t feeling good after getting vaccinated. The wait time is usually about 30-40 mins “walk-in” when I got my health vaccines.

You don't need an appointment, but you do need to go there well before they open and request testing. They have limited slots for STD testing. Tell them everything you want to be tested for.

The health department right there will do a pregnancy test. call them and let them know that you need to come in and take a pregnancy test for proof of pregnancy for Medicaid and they should set you up for it right there and then, you might be able to walk in and do it
Yes, the Rockdale Health Center offers family planning services (including pap smears, birth control, breast exams, yeast infection checks etc.) and STD services for clients with Medicaid, private insurance or no insurance. These services are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting at 8am

TB skin test is a walk-in service. We offer it Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. You must arrive 1 hour before closing. It must be read with 48-72 hours of placement.
