You have to restrain these adults the state calls youth and if you get hurt and need surgery they pay you 60% while out. The staff is great with a high turn over rate but the administration is why the facility is dangerous. The worst administration from the state to the facility. Not worth your health.

I came here with a 3-5 year sentence not only was I bashed by staff on cedar pod by there therapist ms janette but also by her boss I had a recommendation to go to eagles janette forced me to go to cypress oh well, the other units treat you better anyways and are more fair the therapists are the worse here from my experience in 2017 I do like the nice staff tho I ended up getting transferred to another juvi after 1 1/2 years best decision I made! I ended up getting to halfway house in 2 years then I paroled on the 3 year so if this place is like it used to be get transferred please because this place is bad news for inmate or was in 2017 so I’m glad I made it.

Worked for this place for over ten years. This place is a major disservice to all involved, especially the victims of the perpetrators housed here. Most of the offenders housed here are 18-20 years old but labeled as “kids”. This is a terrible place to work. Took me awhile couldn’t see the forest through the trees. If you’re thinking this is a good place to get started in law enforcement you are dead wrong. The administration here values and believes felons over their staff officers and clinical staff. Also if you are a therapist looking to get a start somewhere this isn’t the place. This place is not safe for anyone involved and the inept leadership ignores facts and evidence to continue their make believe dog and pony show. I could fill a book of what’s wrong and unsafe with this place but instead learn from my mistakes and stay far away from this dangerous joke of a place.

My son was in there for a year. I was fearful of what was to come because of the bad reputation of this facility. Luckily, he had a really good BHS and parole officer who actually cared. He did not get that care or concern at the other facilities. So if he got in trouble they took a look at the whole picture and took that into consideration and at the progress he was making. I thought they were very fair. I also saw that most of the staff members were doing the best they could...of course there were a few that should not be working there but I could see the bad staff members being weeded out. The staff at the front desk and for visitation were always friendly. The time he spent at Lookout literally saved his life and gave him the opportunity to become a stronger person than when he went in.He earned his high school diploma at Lookout. Also, be sure to save all receipts, take photos, and tracking numbers for any items you send to the facility in case they are lost somehow. Hope this is helpful
