I can't say enough about Kari. I met her through a mutual friend, and we hit it off instantly. I told her we were buying a home in Jackson Hole, WY. She lives part time in Boulder and that if she was ever in town I would love for her to come see the house so I could pick her brain. While my husband, Nikki and I fell in love with the bones of our mountain retreat having been built in the mid 90's with no renovations it needed a facelift to get it to where it was we wanted it to be. The second Kari walked into the house I saw her wheels start spinning and the complete genius and creativity she saw just upon one walkthrough of the house blew our minds. My husband and myself are both creative people but the out of the box ideas Kari brought to the table were just unbelievable. Instantly we knew we had to work with her. She got us, she got my vibe, she got my husbands vibe and she understood we didn't want our home to look just like all of our neighbors (beautiful Mountain homes but missing that extra oomph.) We wanted our guests and our breath to be taken away every time we walk through the front door. First thing was first, I sent Kari over tons and tons of photos from a lot of Ralph Lauren home designs as well as western ideas, Ellen Von Unwerth artwork, chandeliers we liked, fabrics we liked and we were off. After we decided YES! We have to work together, Kari flew in with suitcase upon suitcase of fabric samples, leather samples, wood samples, glass, pony hides, faux crocodile, python, Navajo.... You name it she brought in. We started flushing all of our ideas out and next up she put together an incredible mood board/story board for the house with about 5-6 options of different directions we could take each room in. After we jammed and made our selections, Kari used all of her top and trusted vendors and designers to make sure we got the absolute best deal possible. Any chance she could save us money she did, and we really respected and appreciated her honesty. Kari's relationship with her vendors/designers is unparalleled and she was able to furnish an 8,000 foot home from scratch once we made our decisions in less than 4 months. I've never seen anything like it, and we're talking custom/handmade pieces. When the day finally arrived for us to fly back up to Jackson and see the house it felt like an episode of the shoe Extreme Makeover. I started crying the second I walked into my foyer. No stone was left unturned. Every detail was not only immaculate but way above and beyond what we were dreaming about. I mean who thinks to wrap stairway railings in turquoise leather with branding burnt into it? Who uses gold chain link material as wall paper? Who wraps our butt ugly 90's fireplace in our bedroom in all custom belts? Who manages to put 12 chandeliers in our dining room and it looks just incredible especially with the mural wrapping the entire room with horses running in the snow. The woman is a genus. Easy to work with. Delivers on time and literally transformed out home into Western meets Ralph Lauren meets Alexander McQueen. We couldn't be happier with Kari and up next, out Los Angeles home. Kari works hard for her clients and, while very much involved in the decision making throughout the project, she is willing to defer decisions to the clients preferences. She is focused on pleasing the client and putting the clients style choices ahead of her own when necessary while always suggesting alternatives. We worked together on a Boulder property that was 2 condominium units in a historic building. Her sense of modernizing a historic property while paying respect to the time period turned out to be spot on. The mixture of old and new created a timeless design that achieved both comfort and high design.
