I always passed by the cemetery to go home or to go to work. I always found it to be small but beautiful. In 2020 my dad was one of the first victims to die of Covid. Little did I know that this little cemetery would save my family much heartache. While other cemeteries were closed because they couldn’t take the volume of people that were dying, Silver Mount stepped up to the plate and welcomed my father to his final resting place. I am indebted to Silver Mount and I will do all I can to keep Silver Mount alive with beauty, grace and peace.

This is a beautiful site, but the grave upkeep isn't good. We saw at least six overturned stones near little Frank's grave. His was not, but it's so short that may have been why

Place is okay for burying your loved ones. Had to bury my step pops here over 2 yrs ago. Their timing on the closings can be very confusing. Sometimes it’s 4pm, sometimes it’s 5pm. I wish they’d update us on the hours!!

Burial plots are available at Silver Mount. The best way to ask about this is to call the cemetery office 718-727-7020 today or call or visit during business hours (Tues-Thirs 9am - 3 pm). Thanks for writing on this and please contact the office at your earliest convenience.
Dear Ms. Nay: Thanks for your question. I cannot give you an answer yet. In the records I can access digitally, I draw a blank for Hastey, draw nothing with a likely surname for Fletcher, and the records show no interments on Dec. 7, 1937. I did a very quick look on Ancestry.com which didn't add anything beyond confirming the death certificate information. -- However, this doesn't end the available records, as some material is available only on paper. -- The next best step would be to contact the cemetery office by telephone from 9 am to 4 pm during the week; the number is 718-720-7020. If you have further information (other relatives buried here, name of undertaker or burial association), that may help. One other thought: Silver Mount Cemetery abuts Silver Lake Cemetery, and Woodland Cemetery. It is not hard to confuse Silver Mount with Silver Lake, in particular. Is it possible that Mr. Hasty might have been buried in Silver Lake? Best of luck with this search.
First, while we will be glad to help, I am sorry for your loss. I think that we will be able to let you know everything on this shortly. Please call 718-727-7020 and ask the office supervisor, Carol, what you need to do, and what your daughter in law will need in terms of documentation. It may be helpful if you can identify the plot or area in which your son is buried, and the date on which he was buried. If the plot is a larger or family plot, this may matter as well. The office staff may also be able to give information on memorial stone carvers. The office is usually open throughout the week; telephone is the best way to reach the staff. Please let me know if you need further help.
