What a gorgeous shop - Plain Goods is a true destination! I gladly take that 75 minute drive for a feast of the senses. My purchases are items that I will cherish - a beautiful scarf, a colorful barrette, or a vintage tablecloth. The staff is gracious and very attentive, and I enjoy seeing the welcoming owners - I look forward to my next visit!

The store is lovely. The owners are lame. They still make you wear a mask … what a shame. Also, If you’re the type that intends on smelling a candle before purchasing make sure you bring it outside so that you can lower your mask for a second to smell it. #themoreyouknow 👌🏼 As you can see from the owners response most of the reviews of people feeling uncomfortable in this store can be confirmed now. For a super small business during a time where customer service is of the essence you have to wonder why they’re so quick to double down on making your experience incredibly intolerable. I hope for their sake they sell a few extra alpaca sweaters this month to make rent. FYI… most owners and employees where masks still, I’m not assuming I have to also.

Plain Goods is a true gem & a must-visit in Litchfield County. The owners, Michael & Andrew, put such deep care into curating a coherent collection of clothing, homeware & vintage/antique items. Any object that is sold at Plain Goods has been thoughtfully & beautifully designed - down to material textures, thread colors, time-worn patinas and reflective color combinations. Michael & Andrew's creativity and design-eye are unparalleled. Stop by the old firehouse in New Preston (painstakingly restored by the PG team), to enjoy all the beauty enclosed! Maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of their adorable & chic pups, Periwinkle & Fennie!

Never been inside, but have heard they are like that. Do the same thing to workers do their job at their house, hang over their shoulders. Don't let this issue deter you from moving to the area, it is a great area to make a home, Lake Wauramaug is so picturesque and quiet.
Hello! Thank you for brining this to our attention. The Andersen-Andersen peacoat is available in camel or dark navy...the horn rings are difficult to gauge the size because each is handmade and slight size variation exists.
