I like Gristedes and John Cats but could do without the dogs but NYC is crawling with the entitled dog owners.

It is local and its smaller and convenient, mostly older/senior citizens. Good if you want to avoid the Fairway and Wholefoods crowd an djist need something quick. But that means a smaller selection that might stay on the shelf longer than it should. However, it is clean and sanitary, and the staff seems more actively cleaning. Hopefully they can compete with all the new delivery based grocery stores spawning up in the area.

The business model of Gristedes mimics the government.... poor quality, with poor service at a ridiculously expensive cost.
