True professionals they focus on what is best for the dog and after today's visit where they brought the dog to our house with great results we will be giving a beautiful pitbull a wonderful home.

Stay away! None of the money goes towards the dogs care. Fosters are left high and dry with dogs for months to years with little to no support. Dogs sit in boarding for years. Terribly run rescue if that’s what you can this.

I have volunteered for this organization for approximately 5 years, including several years as a board member. The Executive Director, Leslie Rich, is also the Board President, which is a conflict of interest. Leslie controls everything, does not tolerate disagreement, and board members do very little, and are not allowed to view bank statements or review the IRS form 990, which is required by CT law. Several dogs have been in boarding for years, with little to no effort made to find them homes. The bills are not paid. Perfectly good applicants are never contacted. A quarter of the dogs have been placed with a kennel run by someone who is not a certified trainer, and no one ever checks on them. Leslie herself lives out of state and has never met any of the dogs, but disregards information about them from their fosters if she doesn't like it. Dogs that need medication often do not receive it, and other supplies are often not provided in a timely manner. A number of long-time volunteers have left, and many board members have resigned or been forced out in the short period of time that this rescue has existed. Leslie will likely respond and say that I am a disgruntled former board member that was recently voted out. That was done illegally also, according to CT law, which supersedes an organization's bylaws. Nothing that I have stated above is untrue. Look elsewhere for your rescue needs.

We are a dog rescue only and also unfortunately unable to do temporary fostering. There are many good, reputable rescue in CT who do take cats - I'd encourage you to contact some of them. Best of luck!
We have a number of dogs available currently and more who will be coming in within a short time. We currently don't have any "hypoallergenic dogs (non-shedding, hair rather than fur) available but again, we're an all breed rescue and get new dogs into the rescue frequently. Please keep checking our Petfinder listngs, our website, and our Facebook page, and feel free to fill out an application so that you can be pre-approved in the meantime. Thank you!
It depends on a number of factors, including how quickly we can reach your references and also the volume of applications that have been submitted at any given time about any given dog. We always try to get back to people as quickly as possible. All adoption decisions are made based upon the best match for both the dog and the family. We do not make adoption decisions on a first come/first served basis.
We don't have any that small needing foster at the moment, but new dogs are always coming into the rescue. Please fill out an application at our website - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application - thank you for wanting to foster and I'm so sorry to hear of your loss!
Michael please contact us by email or by phone regarding Rosey!
I don't. All of the foster-based rescues I know are full to overflowing with long waiting lists for dogs who they're committed to bring into the rescue when they can find fosters. Ours included (I'm President of Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, Inc.) Finding foster families - people who will take a dog into the home until we find a forever home for the dog - is not easy. It takes special people with a true commitment to animals to do that. I would suggest reaching out to friends and family, or consider a boarding facility if your dog would be ok being kenneled for that long and if you can afford that. There really aren't any resources specifically for temporary fostering. There definitely are pet sitters, etc., but not for long term.
