Island Campground and Marina

There are a lot of sites but they are almost all seasonal. They have a handful of sites for weekly or weekend campers but it's right near the entrance and almost like you are in a parking lot. The bathrooms and showers were clean. Trains are loud and but if you don't mind it's ok. The sites are close together, not a lot of privacy, close to the river where it's not safe, no dock to fish from. No hiking available, it's very swampy and it sometimes gets flooded. I'm sure the mosquitos are horrible in June. If you have a boat and you are mostly interested in boating on the Mississippi then this is the spot for you. Owners are very very nice!

This is a Great campground and marina! Margi runs a campground right!! If she doesn't know you, she will question you. It is hard to run a big campground and marina and they want people to have fun. I don't know what Justin means about messy South end because their campground is very organized and clean. You always have to have a place to store some things. Bathrooms are always clean. If the trains bother you, have a couple extra drinks at the Harbor Bar. It is a campground for fun and for people who try to be respectful. Nearly all the people here have been here for many years.

It camping right on the river across from Red Wing. Manage to fit 43 foot mh in had some low branch but everything ok. Nice bar and food nearby.
