They need a attitude adjustment at this location. Customer service is terrible. Went there again today & the doctor I believe her name was DR “O” black lady with shirt blond hair & a accent. I went in for care not for her to “educate” me. She was super rude! After she questioned me I felt as if I was now being judge so I no longer wanted services there. I walked out & told the other nurses they need to get ride of her. I did not go to urgent care for a history lesson. Completely Unacceptable & unprofessional.

Never go to this facility. I went in for a sore throat they tested me for strep and of course Covid, both negative. Sent me home telling me it’s a virus. I suffered for 7 days, they finally called me and said my throat culture came back for a bacterial infection, they prescribed antibiotics. I took the full course, now 14 days later my sore throat is back. I return and tell them that I don’t think the antibiotics completely cleared my infection. They tell me that’s probably not true. Force me to take another Covid test and repeat the throat culture. I did not see the reason for the Covid test and the snotty nurse walked out of the room and slammed the door. I finally agreed to do it because she said I had no choice it was protocol. Like I figured it was negative. Next up throat culture now I’m waiting for it to come back. I told the doctor I wasn’t going to suffer with a sore throat for 7 more days waiting for culture to come back. She kindly prescribed an anti inflammatory and told me the culture should be back in 72 hours. The overall experience here was really horrible.

Honestly, this place was a little scary. I came in for a sore throat. I got in right away because I'd made an appointment. I told them my symptoms and they decided to test me for COVID and strep. Both tests came back negative. All good so far... The PA who came in to tell me my test results couldn't get out of the room fast enough. She didn't really ask me any questions, just told me my results, felt my neck - which was so tender I asked her to be gentle, which should have been a clue something more serious was going on - looked in my throat and said she saw some postnasal drip. Then she sent me on my merry way. That was Monday. On FRIDAY they call me to tell me I've got a serious bacterial infection. Then they give me my choice of antibiotics. I go with what I am familiar with. I hang up and do some research and find the infection I have is very serious and the correct antibiotic was the one I didn't choose. So I try to call them back the following morning to get the prescription changed. My call goes to voice mail. I try again a little later. Still goes to voicemail. I try repeatedly for 20 minutes. Voicemail. By this time, my wife is sick so she makes an appointment for the following day. She goes in. Tells the doctor what I've got. They test her for strep and COVID. Don't say anything about the thing I've got and send her on her merry way, but not before promising to call me right away so I can formally ask them to change my prescription. They NEVER call. Meanwhile, my calls are still going to voicemail, and I'm on day two of fighting this infection with the wrong medication. This place is disorganized. They are not thorough, which is downright criminal when you work in healthcare. And they don't follow through with their patients. I don't know how they have so many good reviews. Strongly recommend going somewhere else.

Terrible experience. Had an apt yet waited 45 minutes for Dr. My throat was so sore and could hardly talk. Told him it was a sinus infection also. He agreed it was a sinus infection but would not prescribe an antibiotic because he said it was viral yet not sure how he knew that. I have had sinus infections before and always need an antibiotic but he would not listen. He said he would not prescribe anything. This will be the last time I go there.

AFC Urgent Care Danbury West | Dec 6, 2021

This year's flu season looks different, with Covid-19 still a major threat for all of us. It will be tricky to distinguish between the two since they can both exhibit similar symptoms of body aches, chest tightness, cough and fever. Testing is the best way to identify the pathogen(s) causing these symptoms and rule out the possibility of Covid-19. Although many COVID-19 symptoms and flu symptoms overlap, there are certain distinctions between the two.
