I signed up for the HUD Voucher- thinking this would be some benefit to me and my child as a single parent. WORST DECISION EVER. I was told this program would be such a help and relief to me regarding rent/bills on my one income for two ppl. I pay for everything, would not waste my time. Nobody knows exactly what they're doing/ give you the run around and they do not respond in a proper manner.

Call your sec8 office and tell the. Where you want to move contact the sec8 in the area you want to move to get the names of everyone you need to keep in contact with and start the transfer you will have to visit the state your moving to to complete the paperwork your voucher may decrease depending on the state

They are still taking apps at the moment but can close the list at anytime. The list is pretty long but you can be put on the top since every application is treated on a case by case basis.
They do.. but they have a waiting list...fill out the housing packet and return it to them for processing
The wait list is always moving. Depending on what area your wanting to live in, Wayne county has a shorter wait time. You can apply for most housing online. We also have apartments that are income based that are faster to get into. I will try and help you with any information that I can.
It isn't as hard as people think it is to have your property approved for section 8 housing. HUD doesn't take down the drywall to inspect insulation and wiring. They don't scan the home for black mold. People need places to live and some have less than you. My advice is to move if you are that unhappy with it. Complain to HUD about your landlords neglect.
