Positive: The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Room was clean. Negative: The carpet is old and dingy, the furniture was old and badly beaten up. But all ask for is cleanliness and it was clean.

We have moderate hotel expectations for International Falls; we do not expect perfection when paying such low prices. However, the cleanliness of a hotel is still important and unfortunately I feel it important to note that this hotel lacked cleanliness. Our room had an incredibly awful odor that we eventually attributed to the bedspread covers. We knew others staying in the other half of the hotel and their side was overwhelmed with ammonia. Since this is a pet friendly hotel we expect pet scents, but this is well beyond that (I cannot stress how far beyond it was enough). I personally cannot recommend that anyone stay in this hotel. The beds are also very hard which may be a deal-breaker for some. I like a firm mattress but this was rock hard. That said, the staff were pleasant and friendly and the prices are low. But all of the above coupled with walking through cigarette smoke on the way in leads me to say this is not a place to bring your family.

Room was basic, beds were comfortable, and everything was incredibly clean. They do a great job. I appreciate the price point too. The breakfast was actually just a bag of granola bar, juice, and apple sauce, but I do appreciate that they’re making efforts to lessen the spread of Covid by doing so. Will book again when we come into town to visit family.
