My mother has been in Riverside for six days. I have had to call with complaints multiple times daily. The nurses do not administer medication on time, they allow visitors to go upstairs without waiting the full 15 minutes for rapid COVID test results, there is a pungent odor of urine when one gets off of the elevator, the rooms are hot, and guests are required to wear masks but this rule is not thoroughly enforced. There are rodents (rats and mice) that come out at night. One cannot reach anyone in the administration. I was asked to email the head administrator yesterday with my contact information. I did and I have yet to receive a callback. They did have an exterminator put down more rat traps last night but that did not rectify the rodent problem as my mother saw another rodent last night. I realize that there will be problems at every rehab facility and that no facility will be like home, but this is ridiculous. It is exhausting enough to have an elderly relative in rehab without having to manage all of these other issues too. The rodent issue must be dealt with immediately. It’s too much. My mother is currently staying here. There is no way to reach anyone on the weekend, it is hot, and it looks like a rat chewed through a bag of hers... Trying to figure out the rodent situation. I am waiting for a call back. There were mice in the room last night. This is unacceptable.
