We came when it opened. We are lucky to have a guided tour of the house. Our guide was very well informed and passionate about the story of the house. The house was small but filled with history. We have learned a great deal about local history! The tour lasted about an hour, but we would love to stay longer to hear more stories.

Spacious, quiet, beautiful.

Creepy little house. Too bad the only room one can freely roam is the slave quarters...says a lot about the museum, but besides that very good ambiance.

A nice place to go if you are in the area. Great for a date or with family. You can learn a bit of history with a self guided tour. It's not to big so you don't have to spend too much time there. Hours are a bit limited, so check before you go. You can also make a reservation ahead of time. Affordable $5 for adults and free for kids under 12 years old. You can enjoy the park afterwards. Food choices in the area are limited.

Parking is on street on Broadway or you can park at the Van Cortlandt Golf House which is about a 5 minute walk over to the Museum.
Really if you have a wheelchair, you can only see the first floor.
Nobody in US. Some very remote relatives in Australia.
